Commission on the Status of People of Color hosts meet and greet

Gwendolyn Combs

The Chancellor’s Commission on the Status of People of Color will host a “Fall Meet and Greet” from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Nebraska Union, Colonial A room.

The event is designed as an opportunity for UNL faculty, staff and students of color to meet, network, form supportive relationships and begin to establish a sense of community on campus. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served.

“This is one of the commission’s efforts to relieve the expressed sense of isolation experienced by many members of color on the UNL campus,” said Gwendolyn Combs, associate professor of business administration and chair of the commission’s faculty council.

The commission’s general purpose is to enhance the status of people of color at UNL by advising the chancellor on issues pertaining to the specific concerns of faculty, staff and students who are people of color at the university. For more information on the commission, click here.
