Campus Recreation will be offering a 10-week non credit Athletic Training Basics course from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. beginning Feb. 2, first session, or Feb. 3, second session, in City Campus Recreation Center room 230C.

The course will go over different health topics, such as legal issues, basic evaluations of the head, shoulder, knee and ankle, wound care, stretching, etc. Students will get hands-on learning and complete weekly skills assessments. If students complete the requirements at the end of the course, they are eligible for a job interview to potentially earn a position on the Injury Prevention and Care staff.

The course is taught by Daniel Thyren and Sydney Wilson, certified athletic trainers at the recreation center. To register for the course, please stop by the Member Services Desk at the City Campus Rec or the East Campus Recreation and Wellness Center. The cost of the course is $50.
