Nebraska Water Center publishes annual report

Water and natural resources tour still accepting registrations for June 14-16 event.
The 2017-2018 annual report from the Nebraska Water Center is now online.

The Nebraska Water Center’s 2017-2018 Annual Report is now available online and in print. The 40-page report covers two years’ worth of NWC research, extension, outreach and teaching activities.

Highlights from the report include:

  • Updates on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Water Sciences Laboratory, including its vadose zone monitoring and nitrate leaching reduction projects
  • NWC’s collaborative research on the long-term sustainability of the Ogallala Aquifer
  • Extension and engagement programs with the Bazile Groundwater Management Area
  • Profiles of post-docs behind many of the center’s research endeavors

“The annual report is an excellent synopsis of our recent activities,” said NWC director Chittaranjan Ray. “I think readers will get a sense of how we work across university departments, with other higher education institutions and with stakeholders across Nebraska —from the department heads of state agencies to local FFA chapters — to better understand and manage our water resources.”
