The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Office of Graduate Studies is launching a new application processing system on Aug. 1 in preparation for spring 2020 enrollment. It was developed over the past two years in collaboration with UNO, UNK and the NU system.

The new processing system will enhance and simplify the graduate application experience, reduce maintenance costs, provide cross-campus data for decision making and maintain the lowest graduate application fee in the Big 10. It will also align Nebraska more closely with its peer institutions.

“Support across graduate departments has been terrific and has allowed us to integrate a great deal of program-specific details within this new application process,” said Tim Carr, associate vice chancellor and dean of graduate education. “The sharing of best practices among NU’s campuses is unifying and standardizing the culture of graduation education across the system.”

Students will now have a single point of entry to graduate programs at the university. They’ll be able to monitor the entire application process online and have access to support for letters of recommendation, faculty reviews, video interviewing and international credential acquisition and verification.

Academic units will be able to customize department information, which will allow for more personal connections with their future students.

Graduate faculty and staff are invited to the following introduction sessions to learn more:

• 10 to 11 a.m. July 16, Nebraska Union Auditorium
• 10 to 11 a.m. July 18, Nebraska East Union Arbor Suite
