The Nebraska Repertory Theatre will open its 50th season with the comedy “An Act of God,” beginning at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Johnny Carson Theater in the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

Based on the Broadway show by David Javerbaum, “An Act of God” is a humorous performance in which the almighty returns to Earth to set the record straight and answer some of the deepest questions that have plagued humanity since creation.

The production is directed by Michael Mendelson, artistic director of the Portland Shakespeare Project and a resident artist at Artists Repertory Theatre. Guest actor Trisha Miller, who has spent six seasons with the Trinity Shakespeare Festival in Fort Worth, Texas, will also make her Nebraska Repertory Theatre debut.

“An Act of God” runs through Oct. 14. Preview performances of the show will take place Sept. 26 and 27. For showtimes and ticket information, visit the Nebraska Repertory Theatre website.
