Public invited to meet with EPA

The purpose of an upcoming meeting is to allow interested stakeholders to share their views on herbicide registrations.

Growers, crop consultants, agricultural professionals and members of the public interested in speaking with the United States Environmental Protection Agency are invited to attend an open stakeholder meeting, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 1 in the Nebraska East Union, Prairie Suite.

Greg Kruger, weed science and application technology specialist at the West Central Research and Extension Center in North Platte, is hosting the meeting.

The purpose of the meeting is to allow interested stakeholders to share views with the EPA on herbicide registrations.

“The session is really meant for the EPA to listen to the concerns and comments from the industry as it relates to herbicides,” Kruger said. “In particular, we would like to cover dicamba and atrazine.”

Space is limited. Individuals can RSVP online. For more information, contact Kruger at gkruger@unl.edu or 308-696-6715.
