Women’s Week 2016 begins March 8

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Women’s Center is hosting Women’s Week from March 8-17. Women’s Week is a series of events to celebrate Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day. This year’s theme is “Inform. Empower. Inspire Action.”

As a returning feature the center will recognize leaders on campus and in Lincoln as women of character, courage and commitment. Those interested are encouraged to consider nominating a woman who has made a positive impact in their lives through professional, personal, mentoring or peer relationships. Nominations are being accepted through Feb. 15.

Every nominee will be recognized with an online and in-person display throughout the week in the Nebraska Union and at the Women’s History Month banquet, which will take place 6 to 8 p.m. March 17 at the Champions Club, 707 Stadium Drive. Complimentary banquet tickets are available to all nominees.
