Williss retirement reception is April 24

A retirement reception for Jean Williss is 2 to 3:30 p.m. April 24 in Love Library South, room 218.

Willis has worked in the University Libraries for 31 years, having started in the cataloging department on April 6, 1983. From 1985 to today, Willis has worked in the University Libraries dean’s office.

Williss was a member of the University of Nebraska Office Personnel Association for several years. In 1990, she traveled to the National Association of Educational Office Personnel’s Annual Conference in Denver, to receive her Professional Standards Program certificate. In 2005, she also received the Libraries’ Staff Excellence Award for Outstanding Service.

In retirement, Williss plans to spend more time with her grandchildren, help out at her church, volunteer, work, travel and read.

“UNL has been a wonderful place to work with energy from students and many on-campus activities to enjoy,” Williss said.

The April 24 retirement reception is free and open to students, faculty and staff.
