Water for Food Institute hosts seminars on water, food, agriculture

The Robert B. Daugherty Water for Food Institute at the University of Nebraska will host a series of policy seminars focusing on issues of water, food, and agriculture. Each seminar is free and open to public, and will take place in the East Union. Participants will have an opportunity to visit with the presenters immediately following each talk.

The seminars will be live-streamed via Adobe Connect: https://connect.unl.edu/dwfi/.

Oct. 25 — “Place-Based Policies and Practices: Connecting Water, Land and People to Sustain Food Systems,” Joanna Endter-Wada, associate professor of natural resource policy and social science, Utah State University, 10 to 11 a.m., East Union Goldenrod Room

Oct. 28 — ”Doing Policy Relevant Research on Water, Food and Agriculture: Examples from India,” Aditi Mukherji, theme leader, Water and Air, International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development in Kathmandu, Nepal, 3 to 4 p.m., East Union Cottonwood Room

Nov. 1 — “Challenges and Opportunities for Resilient Groundwater Management,” Nicholas Brozovic, associate professor of environmental and resource economics, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 10 to 11 a.m., East Union Goldenrod Room

Daugherty Water for Food Institute at the University of Nebraska is a research, education and policy analysis institute committed to helping the world efficiently use its limited freshwater resources, with particular focus on ensuring the food supply for current and future generations.
