The sixth biennial Vision Maker Film Festival will take place March 11-13 at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center. The festival will showcase works by Native American filmmakers. More than a dozen guest speakers involved with the films being showcased will attend.

The festival starts with a reception at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Van Brunt Visitors Center, 313 N. 13th St. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided prior to the screening of “Medicine Woman” at the Ross. Question and answer sessions with the filmmakers follow the screening.

The festival schedule includes:

March 11

5:30 to 6:30 p.m. — Reception and presentation of the Frank Blythe Award for Media Excellence to Peggy Berryhill

7 p.m. — “Medicine Woman” screening

8 p.m. — Question and answer session with film producers Christine Lesiak and Princella RedCorn

9 p.m. — “Mankiller” screening

March 12

Noon — “Little Big Shorts” featuring “Ronnie BoDean,” “The Weight,” “Call and Response,” “Blackfeet Flood: Haunted By Flood Memories,” “Blackfeet Flood: We Always Went Back There,” “Blackfeet Flood: Before the Water Came,” “Blackfeet Flood: Daniel Webster “Webb” Pepion,” “Blackfeet Flood: Kenny’s Reaction,” and “Medicine Game 2: Lyle”

2 p.m. — “What Was Ours” screening

3 p.m. — Question and answer session with Mat Hames and Jordan Dresser

4 p.m. — “Navajo Math Circles” screening

5 p.m. — Question and answer session with George Csicsery and Henry Fowler

7 p.m. — “Mekko” screening

8:30 p.m. — Question and answer session with Zahn McClarnon

9 p.m. — “The Last Saint” screening

March 13

2 p.m. — “Missing Threads” screening

5 p.m. — “Trudell” screening

6 p.m. — Question and answer session with LaNada War Jack

7 p.m. — “Chasing the Light” screening

8:15 p.m. — Question and answer session with Blackhorse Lowe
