UPC presents ‘Inside Out’ movie for $1 Oct. 7

The University Program Council will show the film “Inside Out” as a part of its $1 movie series, “Second Chance Cinema.” The film will be show at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center at 7 p.m. and 9:05 p.m. Oct. 7.

Admission is $1 for UNL students with a valid NCard. This event is not open to the public.

“Inside Out” is a Disney animated film that takes a whole new approach on the emotions that control the everyday interactions of people. This movie features a star-studded vocal cast featuring Amy Poehler, from “Parks and Rec,” Phyllis Smith, from “The Office,” and Bill Hader, from “Saturday Night Live,” amongst countless others.

The film explores the life of Riley, a young Midwestern girl who moves with her family to San Francisco. The story follows her and the emotions that control and interact with her surroundings and one another in everyday life. The emotions work together within the mind of Riley at a place known as headquarters, a control center for all things Riley. Here, they decipher and respond to the same new chapter that Riley faces as she starts a new life in San Francisco. “Inside Out” highlights the disagreement and interactions between a person’s five emotions as they reveal the villain of inner struggle that all audiences can relate to and appreciate.

The UPC is a student organization that provides diverse, educational and entertaining programs to enhance the UNL community. UPC acts as the executive body responsible for the implementation of programs and activities funded by University Programs and Facilities Fees .
