Community-Campus Connector, an event designed to give UNL faculty an opportunity to network and explore partnerships with local community-based organizations, will be April 23.
The event is 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center, 2012 Transformation Drive. Registration, due by April 20, is required.
The 2015 Connector, organized by the Office of Research and Economic Development and being developed in collaboration with Lincoln Public Schools curriculum coordinators, will focus on opportunities and best practices for establishing effective partnerships with K-12 schools and educators. The agenda includes presentations on the benefits of community-campus partnerships, introductions to opportunities to work with LPS, a working lunch and breakout group discussions and a tour of Nebraska Innovation Studio.
Increasingly, public and private funding sponsors require applicants to demonstrate they have built strong outreach partnerships and collaborations that may lead to measurable impacts, including enhancements to teaching and learning. The Connector is a great opportunity for faculty and staff to meet with K-12 representatives to discuss their organizations’ complementary missions and how they may collaborate to gain external funding.
