Dean Dass, an University of Virginia professor of printmaking, will present a free public lecture at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 5 in Richards Hall room 15. A reception and demonstration will follow the lecture in Woods Art Building room 303, hosted by the Under Pressure Print Club.
Born and raised in Iowa, Dass received his master’s in fine arts from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University. He has been at the University of Virginia since 1983.
Dass’ work is in major collections and museums worldwide, including the Brooklyn Museum of Art; The Philadelphia Museum of Art; The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts; The Walker Art Center; The Alvar Aalto Museum in Jyväskylä, Finland; and the National Collection of Poland in Krakow.
Dass will be visiting the UNL Department of Art and Art History on Nov. 3-7.
