Two exhibits featured at Eisentrager•Howard Gallery

"School Girls Crush," a photograph by Allison Woods of York High School, is featured in the "Nebraska's Best: High School Artists from Southeast Nebraska." The exhibit opens Nov. 6 in the Eisentrager•Howard Gallery in Richards Hall.

Two exhibitions are opening in November at UNL’s Eisentrager•Howard Gallery in Richards Hall.

Opening Nov. 6 is “Nebraska’s Best: High School Artists from Southeast Nebraska.” Running through Nov. 24, the exhibit features designs by 34 students from local Nebraska high schools.

A First Friday reception is 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 6. Three awards of merit will be announced at 7 p.m.

Also on display from Nov. 6-24 is “Porta,” an exhibition featuring artwork from the UNL Education Abroad course “Florence and Venice: Interdisciplinary Art and Culture.” The class was led by Francisco Souto, professor of art.

Participating artists include: Keith Buswell, Brian Coate, Cortland Kerwin, Phoebe Little, Andrea Maack, Cheri MacCarthy, Chase McClaren, Paul Raymond, Lauren Simonsen, Elizabeth Slonecker, Phalin Strong, Madison Svengard, Ian Tredway and Toan Vuong.

The Eisentrager•Howard Gallery is open weekdays, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free and the gallery is open to the public.
