Theatrix, a student-run theatre company within the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, will begin its season with the play “Time Stands Still” by Donald Margulies.

Emma Gruhl, an undergraduate theatre directing and management major, will be directing the play.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 22, 23 and 24 and at 2 p.m. Oct. 26 in the Lab Theatre of the Temple Building. There will be no performance Oct. 25 because of a home football game.

Tickets are a flat rate of $6 and are available online at http://unltheatretickets.universitytickets.com/user_pages/event_listings… and one hour prior to performances on the third floor of the Temple building.

Gruhl described the production as “a story about relationships.” She said, Sarah, a photojournalist, and James, a freelance journalist, document war in the Middle East. Through their passion, they each aim to make a difference in the world with their journalism. But when the strenuous nature of their work begins to overshadow the development of their relationship, the two must decide what life they want to fight for.

Margulies said, “Time Stands Still is very much about the choices and compromises we all make—in love, in work and, particular to this play, in war. Ethical struggles touch on all aspects of life.”

The production is designed by Sarah Resch with lighting, Stephanie Kahler with props, Elizabeth Kniep with sound, Alicia Ojeda with costumes and Amy Almond with stage managing.
