UNL faculty, advisers and student success staff can attend the Fall 2015 Teaching and Learning Symposium, 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 13 in the East Union.
The symposium is designed to continue campus efforts to improve the tools, structures and resources for creating a culture of student success. The keynote speaker is David Laude, senior vice provost of enrollment and graduation management at the University of Texas at Austin. Laude will discuss his experiences in improving student success through targeted programs, advising efforts and curriculum redesign initiatives.
Laude was featured in the New York Times in 2014 for his work and approaches to student success at the University of Texas. His primary charge is to improve the University of Texas’ four-year graduation rate of 52 percent to 70 percent by 2017.
Following the keynote, UNL departments/units will share results on new interventions in interactive breakout sessions.
