A journalism project that allowed students to collect stories in Nicaragua will be showcased in a 7 p.m. Nov. 12 presentation at UNL’s Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center.
The event is free and open to the public.
“Global Eyewitness Nicaragua: Stories of Trials and Perseverance” features 10 student-produced stories from across the Central America nation. The photo and video projects center on narratives of tenacity.
Stories include a couple raising and exporting tarantulas and boa constrictors, a mother who needs her children to collect recyclables in a smoldering landfill, and a woman who aspires to become one of the first standout women boxers in her culture.
