Some UNL venues to be open during holiday

There will be no classes and most offices will be closed at UNL during the university’s annual holiday shutdown Dec. 23-Jan. 1 and during the preceding weekend of Dec. 21-22. Several venues, however, will be open to the public at least some of the time during that period.

Following is a list of galleries, museums and other public venues and their opening and closing schedules Dec. 21-Jan. 1 or beyond. Venues are closed Dec. 21-Jan. 1 unless otherwised noted. UNL offices reopen Jan. 2 and spring semester classes begin Jan. 13.

• Campus Recreation Center: Open Dec. 21-23 and 27-31. The Fleming Field Annex Building, 2301 N. 33rd St., will be open the same days. See http://crec.unl.edu for more information, including operating hours each day.

• Sheldon Museum of Art: Open Dec. 21-22 and 26-29. See http://www.sheldonartmuseum.org for hours each day and additional information.

• University Libraries: Love Library on City Campus open Dec. 21, 23 and 26-30. C.Y. Thompson Library on East Campus open Dec. 26-27. Other branch libraries closed. See http://libraries.unl.edu for operating hours each day and additional information.

• University of Nebraska State Museum and Mueller Planetarium (Morrill Hall): Closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1. Open regular hours Dec. 26-31 and Jan. 2 (9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday and Friday-Saturday; 9:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursdays; 1:30-4:30 p.m. Sundays). • Admissions: Closed, but applications will be accepted online at http://admissions.unl.edu/apply. Processing of applications received during the shutdown will begin Jan. 2.

• Registrar: Offices closed, but most services such as registration and drop/add for spring semester, local address update and grade inquiry will be available online at http://www.unl.edu. Transcripts ordered during the closedown will be processed beginning Jan. 2.
