I direct an interdisciplinary laboratory that is focused on understanding regulatory mechanisms that control bacterial cell physiology and virulence. Our studies center on the model system Caulobacter crescentus and the related human pathogen Brucella abortus, which is the causative agent of the global zoonotic disease known as brucellosis.
