Sponsored Programs, Proposal Development and Research Compliance are among the Office of Research and Economic Development offices that will relocate to the Whittier Research Center from the Alexander West Building in early February.
All ORED offices housed in Alexander West will move between Feb. 6-14. The move will free space for Admissions and other services in the Alexander West Building.
The move includes Research Communications and Research Information Systems staff as well as Sponsored Programs, Proposal Development and Research Compliance Services personnel.
The tentative office moving schedule is:
• Office of Sponsored Programs, Feb. 6, 7 and 10;
• Research Compliance, Feb. 12;
• Office of Proposal Development and Research Communications, Feb. 13;
• Research Information Systems, Feb. 14.
The ORED offices in Whittier will be located in the building’s renovated center area, which formerly housed a gymnasium when the building was a junior high school. To reach the ORED offices, enter Whittier on the ground floor and walk through the doorway beside the elevator to the reception area. Office hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Parking is available in the A lot south of Whitter and in the A/C/R lot southwest of the building.
The move is being scheduled to minimize disruption of service to UNL’s research community, said Mike Zeleny, assistant vice chancellor for research. However, the move could necessitate some delays. Faculty members are encouraged to contact the affected offices before the move if they have questions or anticipate specific needs during this transition.
Faculty and staff with questions during the move can call ORED at 402-472-3123 or email UNLresearch@unl.edu.
The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development will remain in Canfield Administration Building.
