Repairs could lead to brief phone outages

Beginning at 6 a.m. June 29, Windstream Communications will work to replace damaged telephone cables on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s City Campus.

The work is expected to take about two weeks and could lead to brief, one- to two-minute outages on various City Campus phone sets as new connections are established.

Windstream is reporting that a majority of campus might not even notice a disruption. However, Information Technology Services has taken some preventative measures with key departments and plans to have staff onsite at various buildings during the next two weeks.

ITS provides service status updates here or on Twitter. If you experience a phone outage that lasts longer than two minutes, please contact the ITS Centrex team at x3434 or is-centrex@unl.edu.
