Join the Women’s Center and the Office of Academic Success and Intercultural Services for an open discussion at 7 p.m. Oct. 13 about relationship violence and how everyone can help end it.
The presentation will be given by Curt Brungardt, co-founder of Jana’s Campaign.
Week Without Violence is an annual event dedicated to educating individuals about preventing relationship violence.
Brungardt experienced the consequences of relationship violence in 2008 when his 25-year-old stepdaughter, Jana Mackey, was killed by her ex-boyfriend. Jana’s Campaign is an organization that uses the story of Mackey’s life and death to help reduce violence against women and engage men in ending relationship violence.
Brungardt’s presentation, “Engaging Men in Relationship Violence Prevention,” will be in Kauffman Center Great Hall.
This is a UNL Week Without Violence event, which is free and open to the public.
Events at UNL, organized by the Women’s Center, are Oct. 10-15.
