Those who drive to and from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and who use Vine Street near 14th Street should be aware that work on the roadway starting March 11 will create some extra planning – and portions of Vine will be a bit narrower through August.
On March 11, Vine Street will be re-striped, which will start at 9 a.m. The work is expected to take until 3 p.m. During this time, bus traffic will not be closed off from using Vine Street. Flagmen will be on hand to guide traffic. Area sidewalks will be open to students.
Following the re-striping, a portion of the eastbound lane of Vine Street closest to the construction site for the new College of Business Administration building will be closed. This will begin March 13. The segment is expected to remain narrowed until about Aug. 15.
Those who commute via the intersection are asked to use extra caution when traveling in both directions. Access to the University Health Center will remain open from the east during the entire construction period.
