Online MBA program ranked sixth by U.S. News & World Report

The UNL College of Business Administration online MBA program was ranked 6th by U.S. News & World Report.

The online Master of Business Administration program offered by UNL’s College of Business Administration jumped 11 spots to sixth overall in the 2014 U.S. News & World Report Best Online Graduate Business Programs rankings. The report, released Jan. 8, ranks 172 programs, including four current or future Big Ten programs.

“This recognition for our online MBA program is really significant,” said Donde Plowman, dean of UNL’s College of Business Administration. “The world is noticing the outstanding quality of our business programs at UNL.”

Programs offering a master’s in business/MBA program through Internet-based distance education courses were surveyed in the summer of 2013. The results were based on a weighted average of indicators including student engagement, admissions selectivity, peer reputation, faculty credentials and training, and student services and technology. GMAT scores, grade point average and graduation rates were measured within the indicators.

CBA’s traditional MBA curriculum is available on-campus and online. The online delivery allows the working professional the opportunity to participate in an internationally recognized program from anywhere in the world.

The shift from 17th in 2013 to sixth in 2014 made UNL’s MBA program the biggest mover among the top 10 schools. And, for the second consecutive year, the UNL program ranks second among Big Ten institutions.

Indiana University-Bloomington is first overall in the rankings. Other Big Ten schools featured include Penn State University-World Campus at 17th and Rutgers University (which joins the Big Ten in July) at 27th.
