The Journals: Management and Publishing Services division of the University of Nebraska Press has expanded its portfolio to include 30 scholarly journals. The literary journal Hotel America, edited by David Lazar of Columbia College in Chicago, is the 30th publication to select NU Press as its publishing partner.
The division started in 199 with one journal, American Indian Quarterly. Other recent additions to the NU Press division include:
A partnership with the Center for Great Plains Studies on the publication of Great Plains Quarterly and Great Plains Research
The acquisition of Gettysburg Magazine
Launch of several new journals, including the interdisciplinary Middle West Review, the multi-media electronic journal Resilience: A Journal of the Environmental Humanities, and Journal of Black Sexuality and Relationships
The Journals: Management and Publishing Services division has also helped NU Press branch out into other areas, including pairing membership management and journal production for academic societies.
The division has also helped provide editorial, production and marketing services for the UNL and Lincoln communities.
Recent management projects have included a bibliography of faculty scholarship for the Schmid Law Library; Quilt House, a commemoration and history of the International Quilt Study Center and Museum done in partnership with the center; distribution of Native Daughters magazine for the College of Journalism and Mass Communications; and assistance with a book on business philosophy distributed to employees and clients of the local company Talent Plus.
