UNL's Lied Center for Performing Arts has been ranked among the world's best in terms of total ticket sales. This is the second time in six months that the Lied Center has received the international honor.

For the second time in six months, the Lied Center for Performing Arts has been recognized as a top venue worldwide in terms of ticket sales.

Pollstar, the leading trade publication in the global concert industry, compiles the “Worldwide Ticket Sales Top 100 Theatre Venue” rankings. The Lied Center earned the ranking by selling more than 45,000 tickets between Jan. 1 and Sept. 30, 2013.

The Lied Center also received the distinction in June 2013.

“Receiving recognition from such a reputable publication in our industry is extremely exciting,” said Bill Stephan, executive director of the Lied Center. “We are honored to be listed next to some of the most respected theatres in the world and believe that this truly cements Nebraska’s position as an international performing arts destination.”

The rankings are based on tickets sold worldwide as reported to Pollstar for shows played between Jan. 1 and Sept. 30, 2013.
