Jacht Ad Lab presents ‘Ad Art’ exhibit Nov. 7

Jacht Ad Lab, the College of Journalism and Mass Communications’ student-run advertising agency, will present “Ad Art,” photography by the agency’s three in-house photographers, as part of First Friday events on Nov. 7. The event is from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Jacht lab in the lower level of 151 N. 8th St.

The exhibit will feature recent work by Jacht photographers and UNL students Sydney Noonan, Yoni Gill and Will Stott. The photographers will be available throughout the event to discuss their work.

“Our photographers produce professional-quality photographs for real clients each semester,” said Amy Struthers, Jacht adviser.. “This is a great way to showcase that hard work and talent.”

Noonan, a senior advertising and public relations major, runs her own lifestyle portrait photography business called Sydney Noonan Photography. She shoots senior pictures, family portraits and engagement photos.

Gill also runs his own lifestyle portrait photography business called Yoni Gill Photography. He specializes in senior pictures, engagement photos, weddings and concerts. The junior advertising and public relations major also shoots commercial photography.

Stott, a senior photojournalism major, is a multimedia intern at Hear Nebraska, a nonprofit organization that cultivates Nebraska’s music and arts scene. He also photographs for the Daily Nebraskan.

Refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public.

Jacht was founded in 2010 as the college’s student-run advertising agency. Jacht Ad Lab allows students to learn in an experimental environment where there is opportunity to work with real clients and reach goals, explore, analyze and test fresh ideas within the constantly evolving advertising industry. This generates a unique student “ad lab” experience that yields professional and engaging creative work.
