UNL’s College of Journalism and Mass Communications Jacht Ad Lab, the student advertising and public relations agency, will host a First Friday Oct. 3 event, the Lincoln Ink Showcase. The show will present tattoo creations from the local and talented shops of Seven Seas and Mojo’s Dermagraphics & Design. The event will be held at Jacht Ad Lab, 151 N. 8th St. lower level, in Lincoln’s Haymarket from 6 - 9 p.m.
The artwork featured at the First Friday show will be artwork from the tattoo shops’ artists, along with “live canvases,” clients of the artists who will proudly show off their tattoo body art. Also at the show, there will be a video created from Jacht videographers with exclusive interviews from the artists and live footage from their shops, as well as tattoo photography, food and refreshments.
Lincoln’s First Friday Artwalks take place the first Friday of every month at galleries and businesses in downtown Lincoln. Beginning at 5 p.m., locals can experience paintings, photography, sculpture and more and support local artists.
Participating in Lincoln’s First Fridays creates an unparalleled learning experience for Jacht students. Not only does it provide an opportunity to showcase Jacht’s skills and work, but it’s excellent event-planning experience. Additionally, First Fridays event connects Jacht with the Lincoln’s artistic community.
Founded in 2010 by the College of Journalism and Mass Communications, Jacht Ad Lab allows students to learn in an experimental environment where there is opportunity to work with real clients and reach goals, explore, analyze and test fresh ideas within the constantly evolving advertising industry. This generates a unique student “ad lab” experience that yields professional and engaging creative work.
