Islam Awareness Week events scheduled at Nebraska Union

ISLAM 101 -- 3-day crash course on Islam

The Muslim Student Association will host Islam Awareness Week at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. It will be a three-day event Feb. 23-25 with talks, exhibitions and more.

Islam Awareness Week is designed to give students at UNL insight to Islam and what being a Muslim entails. Admission is free.

The events include:

  • A lecture followed by a panel discussion with Muslims at 4 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Nebraska Union, Regency A.

  • “It’s Hijab? Try it on! Women in Islam, clearing up the stereotypes” from 1-3 p.m. on Feb. 24 at the Nebraska Union, Red Wall.

  • Booths about Islamic art, architecture and more from 12:30 to 3 p.m. on Feb. 25 at the Nebraska Union, Room 202.
