HLN to broadcast live from UNL

CNN Headline News’ “Morning Express with Robin Meade” brings its “Rivalry Express” bus tour to Lincoln with live broadcasts from 5 to 9 a.m. Oct. 4. The coverage will originate from the Nebraska Union Plaza north of the Nebraska Union at 14th and R Streets. Husker fans are encouraged to attend to demonstrate their Nebraska spirit on national TV.

Headline News is bringing its 45-foot tour bus outfitted with broadcasting equipment and a satellite uplink to college campuses across the country through Nov. 9. Nebraska will be it’s third stop of the season.

Headline News sports anchor Carlos Diaz and meteorologist Bob Van Dillen will anchor the Lincoln show. Scheduled to appear are the Nebraska Cheer Squad, Scarlets Dance Team and mascots Herbie Husker and Lil Red. Contestants from the Nebraska Alumni Association’s annual Homecoming fan competition will show their fanaticism.

Musical performances include the Cornhusker Marching Band, Rocktavo, Graduate Jazztet, UNL Vocal Jazz, Bathtub Dogs, Boots and Cats, and Pitch, Please. Many of the musical performers are students in the UNL Glenn Korff School of Music.

Additionally, wild fans, tailgating vehicles, local chefs and a mechanical bull will make appearances.
