Football Fridays continue with ‘Family Night’

The Nebraska Alumni Association’s Football Fridays series continues today with a “Family Night” celebration. The event is 5 to 7 p.m. at the Railyard, 350 Canopy St., southeast of Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The family-friendly celebration will include activities and games organized by the Lincoln Children’s Museum, animals from the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, fossil dig boxes and a craft project from the Nebraska State Museum, and performances by the Husker Spirit Squad, pep band and UNL mascots.

Featured guests include Husker alumnus Steve Taylor and Husker Sports Network broadcaster Greg Sharpe.

All Football Fridays events are free and open to the public. Food and drinks available for purchase at surrounding restaurants.

Remaining Football Fridays dates and themes are: Sept. 19 (Miami) — ’90s night tribute to the 1994 national championship team; Sept. 26 (Illinois) — Homecoming celebration with “125 years of football” trivia; Oct. 24 (Rutgers) — Weekend of Champions with special guests from championship teams; Oct. 31 (Purdue) — Halloween, Husker trick-or-treat night; Nov. 21 (Minnesota) — Post-season preview with analysis and predictions from Husker experts.
