Ethnic studies lecture to explore mentoring

Victor Macias-Gonzalez, a professor of history at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, will discuss “Mentoring Matter: Lessons from a Minority Sophomore Mentoring Program,” at 4 p.m. Aug. 26.

The talk, which is free and open to the public, is in the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center’s Ubuntu Room.

Macias-Gonzalez is also co-editor of “Masculinity and Sexuality in Modern Mexico,” which features essays on how evolving notions of the meaning and practice of manhood have shaped Mexican history.
