Emeriti launch international relations discussion group

The UNL Emeriti Association and Osher Lifelong Learning Institute have created a current international affairs discussion group. The first meeting, held Sept. 3, drew 50 emeriti and OLLI members.

The group meets the first Wednesday of each month to discuss world issues. The Sept. 3 meeting, moderated by Peter Levitov, emeritus professor of international affairs and an immigration attorney, featured talks on the Ebola crisis in West Africa, the growth of the ISIS terrorist movement in the Middle East, the Keystone pipeline, and potential outcomes of the Scottish vote for independence.

The next discussion is 3 p.m. Oct. 3 at Stauffer’s Cafe and Pie Shoppe, 5600 S. 48th St.
