A retirement reception for Michael Cook, a manager for the Department of Chemistry’s purchasing office, is 10 to 11:30 a.m. April 1.
The reception, which is free and open to faculty, staff and students, is in 548 Hamilton Hall. Refreshments will be served.
Cook has worked at UNL for 29 years. He started at UNL in 1985, working as a stockroom clerk for the dental college. He moved to the scientific store in 1987 then transferred to become a buyer for chemistry in 1989.
Cook won the College of Arts and Sciences’ Applause award in 2010 and the NU Regents’ Kudos award in 2013.
“Mike has been such an integral part of what makes the Department of Chemistry special and unique,” said Dodie Eveleth, business manager for chemistry. “We will greatly miss him.”
