Hip-hop artist Big Sean and special guest XV will play a free outdoor concert April 9 at UNL.

The 2014 UNL Spring Concert will begin at 8 p.m. on the greenspace north of the Nebraska Union, with a rain location in the Coliseum. The concert, organized by the University Program Council, 106.3 KFRX and UNL Greek Affairs, is free and open to the public.

All academic buildings, residence halls, and area businesses should be aware that there will be bursts of high and low-frequency sound throughout the day with full concert-level sound checks beginning after 5 p.m. The concert is expected to run to 11 p.m.

Big Sean’s best-known hits include “Dance (A$$)” and “Beware.” He is featured on top tracks with artists such as West, Jay-Z and Drake.

Opener XV is a rapper, singer and songwriter from Wichita, Kan. He describes his music style as “soulful old-school beats combined with a futuristic twist.” XV has released multiple successful mix tapes and released a new EP, “Madness Begins,” in March.
