UNL’s Glenn Korff School of Music’s Jamie Reimer, soprano, and Kevin Hanrahan, tenor, will collaborate with guest pianist, Matthew Larson, in a vocal recital of “German Lieder” by Robert and Clara Schumann at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 24 in Kimball Recital Hall.
These composers, who are husband and wife, are pillars in the solo vocal repertoire tradition. Repertoire includes “Dichterliebe,” “Liebst du um Schönheit,” and the “Op. 78” duets.
Guest artist Matthew Larson is an accomplished collaborative pianist, having played more than 600 vocal recitals in the United States and Europe. He has worked with such varied artists as Metropolitan Opera stars Carol Vaness, Maria Spacagna, Jennifer Larmore and Sherrill Milnes; Academy of Ancient Music director Christopher Hogwood; vocal pedagogy pioneer Richard Miller; and the eminent collaborative artist Dalton Baldwin, with whom Matthew was invited to study in New York.
This performance is free and open to the public. It will be live webcast at http://arts.unl.edu/music/webcasts.
