Chinese culture festival starts Sept. 18

UNL will host a performance by the Golden Dragon Acrobats on Sept. 18 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

The 2014 Chinese Culture Festival, hosted by the Confucius Institute at UNL, will start Sept. 18 with a lecture and an acrobatic performance.

Tsiang-Te Kung, a 75th generation descendant of Confucius, will present a lecture on emerging China that will focus on its resources, population and development challenges. The lecture will be held in the Nebraska Union auditorium from 2-3 p.m.

The lecture is free to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

The Golden Dragon Acrobats will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the Lied Center. This premier Chinese acrobatic touring company represents the best of a time-honored tradition that began more than 25 centuries ago. Acrobatics, traditional dance, spectacular costumes and ancient and contemporary music make this performance an absolute must-see.
