The Chiara String Quartet is featured in each of the performances.

Now in their 14th season performing together, members of the Chiara String Quartet are Rebecca Fischer and Hyeyung Julie Yoon (both on violin), Jonah Sirota (viola), and Gregory Beaver (cello). The quartet members are Hixson-Lied Artists-in-Residence at UNL’s Glenn Korff School of Music.

Bartók’s six string quartets are iconic works, straddling the divide between Romanticism and Modernism. The works, put together, represent one of the great achievements in 20th century music, and their performance as a complete cycle is a milestone for any top string quartet. The Chiara Quartet will play all six of Bartók’s major works over the course of Oct. 14 and Nov. 14 concerts.
