The C-SPAN bus is making a stop at UNL on Sept. 10.
The event is part of C-SPAN’s Big Ten Kickoff, which is touring all 14 universities in the Big Ten Conference. The UNL stop is 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the Nebraska Union Plaza.
During the stop, James Linder, interim president of the University of Nebraska, will be interviewed live at 8:15 a.m. in a mobile studio on the bus. The interview will air on C-SPAN’s morning program, Washington Journal. Linder will discuss higher education and take calls from C-SPAN viewers.
Open tours of the bus will be available from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The bus is in its 21st year on the road. It features interactive computers that showcase C-SPAN resources, including a video library, trivia and quizzes. Information on coverage of the 2014 midterm election will be featured.
The visit is designed to promote ways faculty and students can integrate C-SPAN’s online resources into classroom assignments, discussions and presentations.
In Lincoln, C-SPAN programming is carried on Time Warner Cable channels 19 and 359.
