A retirement reception for Dave Beukelman, professor of communication disorders in the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders, is 3 to 5 p.m. May 5 in the Barkley Memorial Center, room 130.

Beukelman has worked at UNL for 29 years. He has had a distinguished career as an authority on augmentative and alternative communication. He also teaches in the area of motor speech disorders and cleft palate. His research has focused on AAC, dysarthria and oral cancer.
