Behlen Observatory near Mead will host a “Boofest” open house 6:30 to 10 p.m. Oct. 30.

If the skies are clear, attendees will be able to view Mars, the Moon, clusters of stars, nebulae and more through a variety of telescopes. Regardless of weather, throughout the evening there will be presentations by UNL physics and astronomy personnel and “scary” physics demos from the Society of Physics Students at UNL. Free candy will be offered to trick-or-treaters while supplies last.
