The Barkley Memorial Center is celebrating its 40th year with an open house, 4 to 7 p.m. April 8. The event is free and open to the public.
The event will include tours of the center, information about the program and how the building has changed over the last four decades. Information about current programs, clinical services and research being conducted by students and faculty will be discussed.
Informational materials and refreshments will be available.
The Barkley Memorial Center houses the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders in the College of Education and Human Sciences. Programs hosted in the Barkley Center include audiology, speech-language pathology and special education. The Barkley Center is also home to the Barkley Speech Language Hearing Clinic, HearU Nebraska and the Lion’s Club and Sertoma Club hearing aid banks.
