Bailey performance rescheduled for March 31

John Bailey’s flute performance has been rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. on March 31 in the Westbrook Recital Hall at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music.

The performance will be dedicated to the flute works of 20th-century German composer Paul Hindemith. On the program are Hindemith’s “Sonatina” for two flutes, performed with DMA student and Hixson-Lied fellow Nicaulis Alliey; his “Eight Pieces” for solo flute; and the “Sonata” for flute and piano, performed with DMA graduate Janka Krajciova. The final piece will be performed as a short lecture/recital with discussion of aspects of the piece with musical illustrations.

Bailey is the Richard H. Larson Distinguished Professor of Music and a member of the Moran Woodwind Quintet, the resident faculty quintet at the Glenn Korff School of Music.

The performance is free and open to the public. It will also be live webcast at http://arts.unl.edu/music/webcasts.
