As part of the Thomas C. Sorensen Policy Seminar Series, Congressman Brad Ashford will speak about U.S. foreign policy from 2 to 3:30 p.m. April 7 at the Nebraska Union, Centennial Room.
From his position on the House Armed Services Committee, Ashford will discuss, among other issues, the current geopolitical state of the Mideast. The congressman’s remarks are based on first-hand knowledge of the region and face-to-face meetings with leaders of several Mideast countries. Ashford has visited the area three times since he was sworn in to Congress in January 2015.
Ashford represents Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District. He serves on the House Armed Services Committee as well as the House Agriculture Committee. He previously served in the Nebraska Legislature for 16 years. Ashford is a graduate of Colgate University and Creighton University School of Law.
