Architecture dean search begins

A committee appointed by Interim Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Ronnie Green and led by College of Education and Human Sciences Dean Marjorie Kostelnik has begun the search process to recruit and select candidates for a new dean of the College of Architecture.

In addition to Kostelnik, members of the search committee are: Lindsey Bahe, associate professor and interim director, interior design; Lori Bennett Baumli, business manager, college dean’s office; Bruce Carpenter, representing the professional community, HDR Architects; Steve Hardy, associate professor, architecture; Sarah Karle, assistant professor, landscape architecture; Brian Kelly, associate professor, architecture; Chloe Neuvirth, undergraduate student, interior design; Bryan Perez, graduate student, architecture; Jay Puckett, director and Charles and Margre Durham professor, Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction; Zhenghong Tang, associate professor, community and regional planning and School of Natural Resources; and Kim Wilson, director and professor, landscape architecture.

Scott Killinger is the college’s interim dean, having assumed the role in August 2015. The college offers undergraduate and graduate/professional programs in architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and community and regional planning. The university has enlisted the service of R. William Funk and Associates to assist the search process.

The deadline for applications is March 10. Faculty are encouraged to nominate or forward names for consideration to krisha.creal@rwilliamfunk.com.
