Abstracts sought for DoD conference

The University of Nebraska’s National Strategic Research Institute seeks abstracts from faculty for an upcoming Defense Threat Reduction Agency conference.

Abstracts, due Jan. 30, are for the Chemical and Biological Science and Technology conference, May 12-14 in St. Louis. Key research areas addressed at the conference include: novel threat and disruptive chemical and biological discovery; dynamic functional materials; applied mathematics and innovative computational tools; flexible design/synthesis manufacturing; and systems biology and engineering. Additional focus areas to be addressed include: disease surveillance, characterization and point of need diagnostics; adaptive medical therapeutics and technologies; rapid response and recovery science/technology; and threat activity sensing and reporting.

The conference is designed to allow researchers to connect with DTRA science and technology managers who direct funding and research needs. For more information, click here.

Abstracts must be submitted to Chris Warner, cwarner@nsri.nebraska.edu, by Jan. 30. They should be between 250 to 500 words and include: background (purpose of research and relationship to other areas if applicable); methods; preliminary results; preliminary conclusion; and potential impacts. The abstracts must be publicly releasable and non-proprietary.
