Shane Farritor, Lederer Professor of Engineering, will speak at the TEDxLincoln Salon event on July 19 and the main event on Sept. 23.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Chancellor Ronnie Green, Professor Shane Farritor and student Mattison Merritt will be part of the 2016 TEDxLincoln lineup.

A TEDxLincoln Salon, "The Power of Play," will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. July 19 at Nebraska Innovation Campus, 2021 Transformation Drive. Farritor, Lederer Professor of Engineering and co-founder of Virtual Incision Corp., will speak at the event. Tickets are $15 and include appetizers and a drink ticket. A cash bar will be available.

Farritor also will deliver the presentation "Making as Thinking" at the TEDxLincoln main event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 23 at UNL's Kimball Recital Hall, 1113 R St. Green will present "The Challenge of Sustainability in the Face of Global Food and Water Security." Merritt, an English and communications major, will present "Rethinking Our Jokes."
