As part of Women’s Week at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, Andi Zeisler will present “Don’t Just Change the Channel: Why Pop Culture Matters to Feminism, Activism and Social Justice” at 7:30 p.m. March 6 in the Nebraska Union Auditorium.

Zeisler is co-founder and editorial director of Bitch Media, a nonprofit feminist organization based in Portland, Oregon. Her writing on feminism, pop culture and media has appeared in Ms., Mother Jones, the San Francisco Chronicle and The Washington Post. She is a regular columnist for Salon and is working on a book about how media and pop culture have transformed feminism from a social movement to a personal and brand identity.

The event, sponsored by UPC Nebraska and the UNL Women’s Center, is free and open to the public.
