Husker faithful did what many thought couldn't be done.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln's volleyball match against the University of Nebraska at Omaha now holds the world record for attendance at a women's sporting event, as 92,003 fans filled Memorial Stadium on Aug. 30. The previous record was set by 91,648 fans at a 2022 soccer match between Barcelona and Wolfsburg. The Volleyball Day celebration also drew the largest crowd in the 100-year history of Memorial Stadium.

The news traveled fast and many shared their congratulations to the Huskers on social media.

Stories were published by the Guardian, Washington Post, the Athletic, ESPN.com, Sports Illustrated, CNN, the BBC and more.

Here are some reactions from Husker fans near and far:

The University of Nebraska’s Volleyball team attracted a sell out crown of over 90,000 for their doubleheader in Memorial Stadium! It’s the largest crowd to ever attend a women’s volleyball game. What an amazing sight to see! @HuskerVB

This night resonates across the nation from Nebraska. Just had a long conversation with a colleague elsewhere and all they could talk about was what this says about Nebraska! https://t.co/mlcRYR9I4d

Think of all the little girls watching volleyball night in Nebraska tonight…

Love seeing this support for women’s athletics.

If you build it, they will come.

The funniest part of the night? A 90,000-seat stadium wasn’t big enough for Nebraska volleyball. This thing could’ve attracted 100 …. easy.
