Workshops for hosts of international scholars, employees begin Oct. 13

Congratulations to Fulbright Semifinalists!

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln International Student and Scholar Office is hosting a series of workshops for faculty and staff who work with international scholars and employees.

All workshops are free but require registration, and will be held via Zoom. The first workshop is 9-10:30 a.m. Oct. 13, titled, “Introduction to hiring international employees/visiting scholars.” This workshop is intended for university employees who are new to working with international employees/visitors.

Registration for the Oct. 13 workshop and subsequent workshops can be done by emailing internationalscholars@unl.edu.

Additional workshops will follow and more information will be available on the workshop website as the date is nearer. The dates and topics for the remaining workshops are:

  • Nov. 10: H-1B

  • Dec. 8: Permanent Residency

  • Jan. 19: Introduction to hiring international employees/visiting scholars 2

  • Feb. 16: Exchange Visitor (J-1) Scholar

  • March 9: Exchange Visitor (J-1) Non-degree student

  • April 13: Immigration Attorney Panel
